A Properse game

The Studio screen: a lit marquee announcing the film now shooting, its cast, and last week's results The box office booth: setting the ticket price on a large ticket, choosing the opening date and reading the forecast The playbill release calendar: seasons as acts and rival blockbusters billed week by week Awards night: gold winner plaques at the Golden Reels The Talent tab: signed directors and actors with portraits, energy, mood and contracts

Run the whole show

Make the movie

Pick a script, an audience and a budget, from shoestring to lavish. Then survive the shoot: storms, scandals and diva meltdowns.

Sign the stars

Directors, actors and writers with real traits. Sign them for a season or three years, or hire a freelancer for one film.

Own opening night

Set the ticket price at the box-office booth, open wide or limited, and dodge rival blockbusters on the playbill.

Chase the gold

Three award shows a year, six categories, and For Your Consideration campaigns, all revealed behind the velvet curtain.

Grow the studio

From a garage to a global studio: cinemas, soundstages, streaming deals, and three new studio goals every year.

Read the Daily Reel

Every week in print: your box office, life on set and industry gossip, plus a poster wall of every film you’ve made.

Free. No ads. No energy timers. No account. Your studio saves on your device.

Where is my progress saved?

On your device. The game saves after every action, and your progress is included in your iPhone’s iCloud or computer backup if backups are on. Progress doesn’t sync between iPhone and iPad yet.

How do I start over?

Tap the office button at the top left, open Settings, then tap Reset game. This can’t be undone.

My film flopped. What went wrong?

Quality comes from your director’s and lead’s skill, genre specialties, a good writer and your budget. Hype comes from marketing, stunts, festivals and famous cast. Ambitious scripts need skilled teams, and timing matters: check the playbill for seasons and rival blockbusters.

Why did someone leave my studio?

Either their contract ended (you’re warned four weeks before, with a Renew button on the Talent tab) or their mood dropped too low. Nobody leaves in the middle of a film.

Should I release wide or limited?

Wide pays off for hyped films. Limited is cheaper and suits great films nobody has heard of yet; they grow by word of mouth. The release screen shows both forecasts.

Does the game have ads?

No. Garage Pictures is free to play and has no ads.
